How do I post to uk.rec.models.rail?
Well, firstly you need a newsreader.
The two heavyweights in the Internet Browser world, Netscape and Internet Explorer have built in newsreaders, and if these don't satisfy then there are other quite brilliant newsreaders available to download from lots of websites, or are given away free on many magazine coverdiscs.
My personal favourite is Agent.
Once your newsreading software is set up with your details (newserver address, e-mail address etc) you will need to go on-line to download a list of the available newsgroups. When this is finished, and depending on the software you are using, you can do a search for uk.rec.models.rail and the newsgroup will appear in the list. Once it is visible on-screen, simply hit the subscribe button and then download all the headers.
A vast amount of information about usenet, and advice on how to write and post articles is available from Usenet.org and your ISP should also have help available to you from a link on their web site homepage.
